The Dream of Flying

I made this as a gift for a friend of mine.

77 years ago, the spitfire landed in a remote region, far from its home out of gas and resources. The pilot glided the plane carefully down on a shallow, freshwater lake, fortunately, making a safe landing. He couldn't do much beyond that point and had to abandon his plane in search of safety before night fell.

It remained there as a landmark for others... years and years beyond.
