Hey folks, as much as this is an advertisement for my own product I'd just really wanted to show off about this. Originally I produced the nebula generator for a game which unfortunately went nowhere. 6 years later I decided to release a few images based on this generator... so here they are as backdrops you can use for your own thing.
The nebula generator is absolutely capable of producing fantastical images, although it is a bit limiting. Maybe one day I'll port this over to tools such as Blender... or Substance Designer. For now it'll remain as a thing for FilterForge.
I went around making some nebula using a procedural texture generator.
These are the results of a few hours of tinkering around.

Originals are intended to be for compositing purposes... particularly if you want to colorize, alter the look and feel of it.
Here's the original FilterForge network that produced this effect. It's pretty simple... just mostly texturing going on.
It was heavily processed using AfterEffects.
